Predicting the AFC East Standings for 2023
The AFC East is easily one of the toughest divisions in the entire NFL, never mind the entire AFC. With the Jets trading for star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, it is a division that can entirely be up for grabs here. Here are the record that are predicted for the AFC East:
Buffalo Bills
As long as Stefon Diggs is still part of the Buffalo Bills roster by the beginning of the season, they are still favorites to win the division. The question is if he plays. The best we can see from Buffalo is a 14-3 season. With the first eight games being winnable and finally taking their first loss against Cincinatti. Also having Buffalo lose to both teams who were part of the Super Bowl back in February.
Miami Dolphins
Miami has made some improvements especially on defense, however many reporters have overrated them. They are not going to win the AFC East just because of the acquistion of superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey. The real question going in is if quarterback Tua Tagovailoa can stay healthy. Prediction for the 2023 season is going to be 9-8. This is a tough schedule for Miami however there still plenty of winnable games for them.
New York Jets
While the Jets got a new quarterback in Aaron Rodgers for the 2023 season after a horrible year from Zach Wilson, the Jets are in a win now situation trying to get back into the playoffs. Prediction for the Jets is a 10-7 record to get into the playoffs. This can be completely reversed if things go horrible for the Jets. However, with the moves they have made, New York could be a dangerous team going into the 2023 season.
New England Patriots
New England undoubtedly has the toughest schedule in the entire NFL. However, there are some postive things going into the year. Bill OβBrien returns to New England to become the new offensive coordinator. The Patriots are also predicted to have a top five defense for the year. This prediction has New England going 6-11. While this season is worse than the previous year, this is a much harder schedule than what the Pats had last year.
