A video of a helmet has surfaced on the internet that is apparently a new alternate helmet for the Houston Texans. The helmet boasts a fancy “H” in two different shades of blue with a red outline, accompanied by a red star to the right of the letter.

The leak comes after the NFL approved of a third helmet to be implemented into teams’ uniforms. 

With this helmet, Houston is reverting to similar colors the Oilers wore during their tenure in Houston from 1960 to 1996 when they relocated to Tennessee. There has been a lot of controversy over who - between Houston and Tennessee -  deserves to wear the throwback Oilers uniform, but this seems like the closest thing Texans fans will get.

Other teams that are eligible to create a new helmet this offseason include the New York Jets, Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos.

These alternate helmets are only allowed to be worn with the team’s classic, alternate or color rush uniforms.

The Texans are scheduled to officially release their new uniforms on Tuesday, April 23.
