If you have been following Steelers football this season, you would know that the Steelers games have been decided by close calls this season. The Steelers aren’t the most electrifying team but they are an interesting team to follow. They aren’t going to blowout teams by 30-plus points but best believe they will be in every game they play somehow.

Usually, Pittsburgh starts slow in the first half but today against the Packers it was the complete opposite. With the change of offensive coordinator Matt Canada on the sidelines, the team’s pace has been a little bit different. On the first drive of the game, Pittsburgh capped it off with a Najee Harris touchdown. Then on the second drive, it was followed by his duo Jaylen Warren on a great run for the second touchdown for Pittsburgh. The rushing duo of Harris and Warren, helped propel a usually slow Pittsburgh offense, opening up the passing game due to the dominant rushing of the two.

The headscratchers of today’s game came surprisingly from the defensive side of the ball. Especially in the secondary, with cornerback Levi Wallace. Wallace, it seems had trouble from the beginning of the game when he was guarding receivers. In both drives of which he was involved in, the receivers scored almost effortlessly. In the Steelers fanbase, Wallace is probably up there with Canada on what the Steelers fans do not want on this team and this did not make it any better especially with the offense finally having a spark. Another headscratcher came today, from the injury bug. As it took the depleting linebacker core this time with Kwon Alexander. Who has been playing great football lately and is a real leader on this defense.

Despite all of this Pittsburgh still managed to pull through with a win of 23-19. While Mike Tomlin who takes it like it is, wont apologize after this game. His favorite quote “We won’t apologize for winning” surely comes into effect. However, this begs the question when does barely scraping by become a problem? The offense has so much potential with great playmakers but hasn’t been up to fruition in terms of what they can be. Surely the offense has to be better, especially this next week in a key game when they face a division rival in the Cleveland Browns.
