Another big move from the New England Patriots as they have secured Kyle Dugger from a franchise tag to an extension. The former Divison II safety out of Lenior-Rhyne and 2020 second round pick has agreed to terms with the New England Patriots that will give him a four year extentsion that can potentially be up to $66 million in total. The total is $58 million with a guarenteed $32.5 million. While Dugger is still going to be playing on the transition tag that is worth $13.8 million for a total of one year.

Dugger has been the heart and soul of the Patriots defense for the last couple of years and with Devin McCourty being retired last year, Dugger stepped up and performed well for a Patriots team who had a rough year since 2000. New England with a banged up defense still has the potential of being a top 10 defense with names such as Matthew Judon and Christian Gonzalez coming back from injury after being forced to sit out for the rest of the season. Dugger who is 28 now did not get his fully start until his second year of the season proved to fans why he is ready to be the next top safety in the organizations history.
