Patrick Mahomes Stated That He Would Be a Different QB if It Wasn’t for Andy Reid
Kansas City, Missouri (PSF) - In 2017, Patrick Mahomes landed in a great advantage situation. He was drafted into the Kansas City Chiefs and not only that but when the team was being coached by Andy Reid, who is arguably one of the best coaches of all time. The all-star player has stated that it was thanks to Reid's guidance and hard work is one of the main reasons of why he became the player that he is today.
During a podcast interview with AP Pro Football Podcast with Rob Maadi, Mahomes pretty much speaks out on how important Reid has been to his Hall of Fame career. The player even mentioned that the coach meant the world to him, telling on how much impact Reid has given on him over the years, making him achieve so much while working out and making sure he is at his best and he learns along the way of his training regime.
Mahomes has stated that he would’ve been a very different quarterback if it wasn’t for Andy Reid's training and coaching. He even stated that Reid helped him to become a better man, a better dad, and always be the best of who he was every single day since he joined the Chiefs. The hard work and dedication really helped molded the player into a MVP of a season, that elevated Mahomes into one of the most hard-working players in the NFL.
The quarterback has stated that he is not looking for to make a legacy of his career, at the moment he wants to improve his work on a daily basis. He states that he uses the training style that Reid gave to him, making Mahones into a really dedicated player and a hard-working one.
In a sense that statement makes sense, Mahone’s style of playing works because of Andy Reid guidance as a coach. If that is the case, then this would be similar to Brady and Belichick on the New England Patriots. Such a collaboration and friendship between the player and the coach is very rare to see nowadays in the league.
