Opinion : Three Overlooked Players In Fantasy Football!!!
With the NFL Season starting very soon, millions of football fans all over the U.S will have already drafted or will be looking to draft a fantasy team.
Of course, you have the big names in fantasy that are going to get you ten-plus points a game no matter what, the players that even your grandma knows about: Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Jefferson, and “King” Derrick Henry (Don’t get injured this year, buddy).
However, chances are these names are on everyone’s radar that knows fantasy football, and you will need to look for some players that not everyone knows about in order to keep your fantasy team in the fight week after week. Lucky for you, these three names are players you should look out for and if you have already drafted or are still drafting your team, this knowledge will help you and your fantasy team on the path to victory.
Amon-Ra St.Brown - Detroit Lions
Let’s be honest, St.Brown is probably the single most known young wide receiver to look out for in the 2022-23 NFL season. Despite this fact, most fantasy leagues have him only projected to be getting 14 points in the first week. Okay, yes he did blossom towards the end of last season and put an unreal stretch of four weeks where he scored a touchdown in all four games and got over 85 yards a game. Although he has made quite the name for himself in Detroit, the reason that he is not getting as much credit as he deserves is because he plays for the Detroit Lions, and the franchise as a whole has been nothing short of a failure. But things are starting to look up in the Motor City with a good pass threat and a young group of players looking to make a name for themselves in the NFL. In order to unlock the full potential of St. Brown, the Lions need to establish a good running game and take the pressure off St. Brown and make sure they tire out opponents by keeping the ball on the ground. After tiring out the defense with the ground attack, Goff needs to use St.Brown as a wildcard when their opponents least expect it. If Detroit can perfect this, then you football fans who drafted St.Brown in your fantasy team will be loving the results.
Chase Edmonds - Miami Dolphins
After losing his starting job to James Connor in Arizona, Edmonds traded the Arizona desert for the Miami sun. This will benefit him greatly and he will work well in Miami’s offense. The Dolphins have a pass heavy offense with great receivers such as new member of the 2022-23 campaign Tyreek Hill and familiar face Jaylen Waddle. With both of these threats for the long ball, the last thing opponents would expect is Miami’s run game to be so lethal. Despite this, Chase Edmonds is the perfect third down threat for Miami with his explosive speed, he can also catch, and Miami’s young but good offensive line. And then throw into the mix the great blocking ability of tight end Mike Gesicki. This will unlock Miami’s running threat, something that no one will expect to be as good as it’s going to be until it’s too late, and they have already scored a touchdown thanks in big part to Chase Edmonds.
Kirk Cousins - Minnesota Vikings
Cousins is an established name in the league and has been playing for about ten years now, but the Vikings have never been fully able to get the best out of the man from Michigan State. However, for the 2022-23 season the “Purple People Eaters” have a new Offensive coordinator in Wes Phillip. He did wonders for the Los Angeles Rams as a tight end coach, helping them unlock all the potential there is out of Higbee. With an absolute stud in Justin Jefferson and established names such as Dalvin Cook and Adam Thielin, combined with a new offensive coordinator who is fresh off of winning the Super Bowl, things are starting to look bright again in Minnesota. Kirk Cousins is a solid option for anyone in fantasy. He knows the league and hopefully this year will be his best chance to show all the doubters that he is the Man for the “Twin Cities”. Yes, the offensive line is not the best in the league, but there is hope that this will relight the spark to a team that has been trying to get back on top of the NFC North. The Vikings are trying to take control of a conference that has not been there since 2017, and they are going in the right direction. For anyone that wants a solid quarterback in fantasy, be on the lookout for Cousins with a new approach to their offense. YOU LIKE THAT?!?
The 2022-23 NFL Fantasy season offers many interesting options to consider, with plenty of twists and turns along the way. Good luck!
