The Three Fantasy Football Bust’s So Far!!!

As the NFL rapidly goes into week six, there have been plenty of surprises that have happened along the way. The Giants are currently standing at 4-1, Las Vegas is at a horrible 1-4 and a bunch of players that fantasy owners picked at the start of the season have not panned out like they truly thought they were going to.

It’s safe to say with any NFL season you never know who is going to have a career year, or who is going to be a bust that will make any fantasy manager scratch their head in confusion when looking back, wondering why they ever drafted them.

So let's look at the three players who so far have been making your fantasy nightmares come true.

Russell Wilson - Denver Broncos

It’s well documented that Russell Wilson is struggling in the Mile High City. “Automatic, supersonic, hypnotic, funky fresh”…. Is not how Ciara’s husband Russell Wilson has been looking since he joined The Denver Broncos for the 2022-23 season. When they beat both Houston and San Francisco respectively, there was no spark in Wilson, Jerry Jeudy, Melvin Gordon, and Courtland Sutton and the offense was barely able to get the job done.

It’s sad to see a quarterback who has been so consistent for most of his career who is struggling after he gets a big pay day with a different team. This has come to the surprise of many when he has targets such as Jeudy, and Sutton as his receivers.

However, this has been fantasy manager's worst nightmare with a subpar head coach and a quarterback who chooses to throw the ball when he is right next to the endzone, giving his old teammate Richard Sherman a heart attack in the process. Seahawks fans will never live that Super Bowl down.

For this season, Wilson has only thrown for four touchdowns and three picks. In fantasy he’s only managed to get above 15 fantasy points twice this season so far. Everyone who has Russell Wilson on their team are fed up at this point and are definitely thinking about benching him for the upcoming weeks until he gets his marbles together.

Cam Akers - Los Angeles Rams

OHHH CAM!!! Fantasy managers will probably never forget in week one when he put up a whopping 0.0 points after only getting three carries of the football and not breaking the line of scrimmage during any of those carries!!!

If you were one of the poor souls who had him in that week and thought “I will keep him because how much worse can it get?”-it’s safe to say things have not gotten better for Cam Akers. He’s only put up double digit fantasy points once during the 2022-23 season so far.

Yes, the Rams have both him and Darrell Henderson Jr. to deal with and their running back but both of them haven’t been doing well this season. The Rams offense that looked so rock solid when they won the Super Bowl last season has locked lackluster and the two running backs more so Cam Akers has been looking horrible out there.

Overall, it’s been a nightmare for Vegas. Hunter Renfrow, a man who put up pretty good numbers last season, has been a ghost this season. Yes, he did get a concussion this season but the guy has already fumbled the ball three times so far. One of them cost the team the game and it gave the Cardinals the victory.

Overall he has not been putting up the numbers like he did last year and has been the achilles heel of the Raiders receiver core. It's been sad to see overall how poor the Raiders have been this season. It’s been the saddest watching how he has been so unproductive this season and this is not at all what fans expected.

He definitely was not going to put up the numbers like he did last season due to the fact that Adams is going to get most of Carr’s passes. Renfrow’s fall from grace has been tragic to watch considering a solid receiver has gone from hero to zero in a matter of one season.
