Marquise Brown designated to return off of IR

The Cardinals big off-season acquisition Marquise “Hollywood” Brown has been designated to return to practice this week marking his return off of the injured reserve. Initial diagnosis had Brown slated to miss 4-6 weeks. While a return from the IR to practice does not guarantee a return to game action this week, Cardinals coach Cliff Kingsbury said that Hollywood has a chance to play in their game this Monday against San Francisco.

Before his injury, Brown was having a very nice season in Arizona where he averaged 7.2 catches, 80.8 yards, and 0.5 touchdowns over his first six weeks, showing exactly why the Cardinals traded for him on draft night. Hollywood looks to pick right back up where he left off, alongside a returning Hopkins and help get the season on track for the Cardinals.

While surely the Cardinals are excited for the impending return of one of their best offensive play makers, the team will ensure Hollywood has a few good practices this week before determining if he’ll be ready to get back into game action. If the team does decide to hold him out for another week, his next chance to return to game action will be in Week 12 against the Chargers.
