Los Angeles Rams Hit with Injury Bug
The Los Angeles Rams have had a devastating case of the injury bug to start off the 2024 season.
Standout second-year wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee), was injured during LA’s 26-20 overtime loss to the Detroit Lions week 1. Puka was sidelined multiple weeks during training camp with the same knee aggravating him. Their other star receiver, Cooper Kupp (ankle), got hurt the next week during the second quarter of a 41-10 blowout loss to the Cardinals. Coach Mcvay said Wednesday that they aren’t sure whether they’ll place Kupp on the IR.
In addition to the two star receivers, Tyler Higbee, who’s been LA’s starting tight end for the past few seasons, started the season on the PUP list. This makes him ineligible to play for at least the first four games. Not only this, but LA’s offensive line has taken some blows as well. They lost starting guard Steve Avila who has an MCL tear in his knee. Jonah Jackson (shoulder) and Joe Noteboom (ankle) were placed on the IR today as well.
These injuries must be huge blows to a franchise that is trying to compete for their second Super Bowl ring in the McVay era. With all of these injuries happening within a two-week span, their luck couldn’t possibly get any worse.
