Lions and Vikings clash in week 13

The Minnesota Vikings will head to Ford Field to face the Detroit Lions. The Vikings coming into Week 13 with a 5-6 record and the Lions come in with a record of 0-10-1. The Vikings are recovering from a disappointing loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The loss showed the weak rushing defense the Vikings have as well as the struggles of Kirk Cousins.

The Minnesota Vikings will look to plug up the holes in the run defense to stop Jamaal Williams since D’Andre Swift is questionable to play on Sunday. Jared Goff has had an okay year but you would much rather have him throw the ball against the Vikings defense than let the Lions running game rule the game.

On offense the Vikings will look to continue to run the ball and stick with their strengths. Alexander Mattison will be starting in place of Dalvin Cook as his is day-to-day. Mattison is a very capable rusher as well as a receiver and isn’t someone the Lions should sleep on. Mattison will need to continue his consistent and tough play if the Vikings want to get their offense back on track.

Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen should be able to get open and make plays against a very weak Detroit Lions defense that ranks 27th in the league in points given up. The Vikings need to come out urgent and strong and use this game as a reminder of how good this team is.

The Minnesota Vikings need to run the ball and stop the run if they want a victory on Sunday. The Vikings need to use this game as a booster to reignite their offense and get their defense in tune.
