Keys to a Successful Jets Season

East Rutherford, New Jersey (PSF) - It was the year 1969, the last time the New York Jets won a super bowl, and with the big offseason acquisition of four-time MVP, one of the greatest quarterbacks of our generation Aaron Rodgers the Jets look to be in contention in a tough AFC. One man doesn’t make the team, and here are the keys for the Jets to have a successful season.

Garrett Wilson

Garrett Wilson is one of the best young receivers in the league. Coming off an incredible season that won him offensive rookie of the year. If the Jets want any chance of playoffs, they need Garrett Wilson to take that next step into becoming an elite receiver with more help on the outside coming from free agency signings Allen Lazard and the veteran presence of a guy like Randall Cobb. The Jets will look towards Garrett to take the leap to stardom and become a game-changing receiver.

Defense continuing dominance

The Jets changed their team around in 2022 with two huge pickups at cornerback, starting with the signing of D.J Reed and the draft selection of Sauce Gardner with the fourth overall pick. Sauce finished the season winning the defensive rookie of the year and is already one of the superstars at the cornerback position. The Jets defense gave up the fourth-fewest points in the league and led the league in fewest yards per play at five. After week three, the defense didn’t allow one team over 23 points in a game and shut down offenses run by great quarterbacks, including Josh Allen and Trevor Lawerence. Gang Green’s defense will be helped by the arrival of Aaron Rodgers, leading an improved offense, and with the draft pick of Will Mcdonald IV, this defense looks like they are on their way to a repeat of last year.

Survival of the fittest

The Jets play in one of the best divisions in the NFL. They play in a division with the Bills, Dolphins, and the team that has seemed to be a thorn in their sides, the Patriots. It starts at the top with the Bills; the Jets played two competitive football games against Buffalo but struggled in moving the ball in games against the Patriots, losing heartbreaking games against their arch-rival. Improved offensive play should be an amazing help for this team playing in a stacked division. This should help them in December and January football because every divisional game will have a playoff atmosphere and have heavy implications for how each team’s season will go. The Jets have a lot to look forward to and grind out in a tough division, but the team can come out on top with all the new additions.
