Kareem Hunt returning to Browns on a one-year deal worth up to $4M
CLEVELAND (PSF)- Running back Kareem Hunt is returning to the Cleveland Browns on a one-year contract worth up to $4 million.
Hunt’s addition comes from the heels of RB Nick Chubb’s season-ending knee injury which he suffered during Monday night’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team soon announced that they put Chubb on injured reserve for the rest of the season.
Hunt spent the entire 2023 offseason waiting for an opportunity to play a significant role somewhere in the NFL, visiting various different teams. He was expected to be re-signed by the Browns during the offseason, but he requested a trade twice through last season due to his usage in Kevin Stefanski’s offense, and other off-field issues.
RB Jerome Ford is expected to take the lead back role in a short week against the Tennessee Titans, with Hunt taking back over after being re-integrated into the offense.
