We have a trade! The New York Jets have acquired Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson in a deal that was announced Monday night.

The Jets just lost rookie sensation Breece Hall for the remainder of the season on Sunday in a win against the Broncos when he suffered a torn ACL as well as a small meniscus tear in the second quarter. Hall was fantastic the first seven weeks, finishing his rooking campaign with 463 yards rushing, 218 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns.

James Robinson has been a more than serviceable NFL running back in his career, and started well this season with 230 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns in the first three games, which helped the Jags get out to a 2-1 start. They also utilized him for two or three targets in the passing game over the first three weeks.

As the season has progressed, the Jaguars have started to lean on second year running back Travis Etienne more, as he has really emerged as the guy for the Jags in the backfield moving forward over the last two weeks. Ultimately pushing Robinson to a more limited role each week, where in his final game for the Jags on Sunday Robinson did not log a carry and only saw one target in the game.

The Jets have gotten off to a great start this season with a record of 5-2, partially due to the performance that Breece Hall has provided out of the back field.

This move is a win-win for both Robinson and the Jets, as Robinson while clearly not as explosive as Hall, should provide solid production and stability for New York the rest of the season as they look to continue with the positive momentum the team has going for them right now in the second half of the season.
