Is Von Miller Teasing a Return To Denver or is he Leveraging The LA Rams?
After winning his second Super Bowl, Von Miller prior to next week’s NFL free agency period (March 16) has been posting mixed signals and hidden messages on his social media primarily to one team. The Denver Broncos. Teasing not only a return to Denver but addressing Broncos Country in a somewhat sarcastic yet joyful demeanor.
However although his actions have spoken words, CBS Sports and USA Today reporter Josina Anderson has been in constant communication with Miller on his future. Relaying “half a dozen teams” will be interested in him as well as his plan to talk to the Rams first before he explores his options.
Furthermore, what signaled a decision between the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams was his post with his former teammate and current Denver Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton on the day Russell Wilson was traded to Denver. Showcased below in Sutton’s interview with NFL Network’s James Jones.
Now this all could mean nothing as Miller could just be hanging out with his former teammate and be mentioning his former team. However, this does bring up the question is Von Miller tactically pulling these antics for the Rams to sign him to a lucrative deal? Even though the Rams are projected to be over the cap, pending renegotiated contracts with quarterback Matthew Stafford and defensive lineman Aaron Donald.
Because although the prospect of playing with Russell Wilson and the new Denver Broncos regimen would be enticing. I believe Von Miller just wants to be paid and compete for another Super Bowl ring.
Time will tell if that will be with the Rams, back home in Denver, or somewhere else. At the end of the day, even though Von Miller is tormenting both franchises with his antics, Miller’s intentions and future are unknown at this point.
