Is The MVP On The Move?

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel-USA TODAY NETWORK

The Packers Gunslinger Aaron Rodgers just won his second consecutive league MVP award. But could he possibly be on the move to another team this offseason? Let’s take a look.

Rodgers in his age-38 season in 2021-2022 led the league in Passer Rating, TD-INT ratio, and total QBR among other categories, as he was named to the First-Team All Pro and back-to-back MVP’s. He led the Packers to the number one seed in the NFC and managed to win 13 games despite overcoming injury to himself and their offensive weapons. Rodgers prove time and time again that his and receiver Davante Adams’ connection is a force to be reckoned with for any defense. But is the Cinderella story over for Rodgers and his time in Green Bay?

Tensions have been building in Green Bay since last year, as reports saw an unclear future for Rodgers and the team heading into the 2021 season. Rodgers was reportedly unhappy with the organization and the front office with moves being made and certain players being traded or released. After a couple months of feuding, the captain agreed to return to the team for another year. Currently under contract through 2023, Rodgers finished another MVP year, but could still be headed elsewhere. But where might he go? Many think the Denver Broncos are the perfect fit.

The Denver Broncos, many think, are in the perfect situation for a veteran quarterback to come in and help lead the way towards a playoff run. They have the weapons, the defense to back it up, and could definitely be a great fit for the MVP.

Would Rodgers be interested in joining them and would the Packers be willing to trade him? Those are the questions that immediately arise. I personally believe Rodgers would be willing to leave the Packers for a team in a better situation. Although he is under contract for another season, it is possible that a trade gets made to land him a Bronco. Denver has had its history with Hall of Fame quarterbacks, and they might see another one come in for a hopeful Super Bowl run.
