Hopefully this team can keep the good times rolling...

For those who are just joining us, I’ve entered a NFL Pick’em tournament. The concept is simple, pick one team to win each week, no reusing teams, ties count as losses, if you pick wrong, you’re out, the last man standing gets the pot. Simple enough when its your friends playing, but when it becomes a 50-60 person league and everyone is buying in for $50-$100, you can see the incentive to putting a lot of effort into picking right (6000 reasons not to pick wrong to be exact). Well this year I just so happen to find myself a part of one of these leagues, and I thought it’d be a cool series to keep my viewers updated on just how long I last (hopefully till the end). Each week i’ll post my pick for the week and feel free to follow it, or not, I’m really just trying to have fun (and make some money).

Last week the Cardinals took care of business against Houston and it was another calm and collected weekend for the team at Advantage Sports. Unfortunately, for the third straight week no one was eliminated! We’re stuck at the number 31 but as the season develops more and more good teams will have already been picked. This is where strategy and planning come up huge. Let’s get into the picks…

My Pick for Week 8: Cincinnati (@NYJ)

Let’s go Joey B and the Bengals! A few years ago I absolutely despised the Bengals organization and wished them nothing but losing and disappointment, but oh how the tides have changed. Not only do I think the team is on the come up, I actually have become a fan of Joey Burrow and that loaded WR room they have. Ja’marr Chase is looking like the next Justin Jefferson and the team just handled a hot Ravens team fairly easily. Do I think they’re a real contender? Not even the slightest, but this is the best they’ve looked in years and I love them against a Jets team running their backup QB. Let’s hope the good times continue in New York tomorrow!
