PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (PSF) — After the Giants win against the Indiana Colts in week 18, The New York Football Giants have locked up the sixth seed in the NFC wild card round. Now that the Giants are playoff bound, the main question leading up to the regular season finale against the Eagles was if Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll would rest his starters. A win or a loss has no effect on the position in the Giants seeding, but the same cannot be said for the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles needed a win to secure the first seed and a bye from the wild card round.

It wasn’t until Saturday afternoon that it was announced that Giants quarterback, Davis Webb, would make the start against the Eagles. The announcement answered the question on whether the Giants would play their starters or not. There were many factors to this question because of the seeding implications with the Eagles.

Davis Webb starting the game over Giants backup quarter back Tyrod Taylor was a little shocking to some, but shows that HC Brain Daboll was not playing with the risk of Injury. Davis Webb and Brain Daboll have worked with each other before and this gave Davis his first career start, which resulted in a 16–22 loss to the Eagles.

Even in a loss, the Giants look positive going into next week. Davis Webb also played well with two touchdowns, one rushing and one passing 209 total yards, and no turnovers. Giants Fans also had a quick laugh to finish the season as Davis Webb’s passing touchdown went to heavily criticized Kenny Golladay who recorded his first touchdown as a Giant.

With the starters rested and a very good season wrapped up for the Giants the next tasks for the G-Men is a rematch against the Minnesota Vikings. The Giants feel very confident entering next week’s game as an underdog and look to upset the three seeded Vikings.
