Giants Get Cut Down To Size
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (PSF) - The New York Giants saw a record-breaking home loss to divisional rival Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football by a score of 40-0. The Giants gave up 14 non-offensive points, with a kick returned for a touchdown and an interception return touchdown.
The Giants were under pressure all night as quarterback Daniel Jones had no time to find his new wide receivers down the field. Jones threw two interceptions on the night. Offensive line play has continued to haunt the Giants since their Super Bowl win in 2012.
Although Sunday night wasn’t pleasant for the Giants and their fans there are some bright spots to be happy about going forward to look out for. Rookie cornerback Deonte Banks flashed all over the field recording 2 pass break ups and allowing zero catches all night. This was a very impressive performance for the rookies being tasked with guarding that great trio of wide receivers.
Looking forward, the Giants will head to Glendale to take on the Cardinals as they face a must win game two. Arizona shouldn’t be overlooked though as they gave Washington lots of trouble with their defense flying all over the field. The Cardinals are a tough group which head coach Jonathan Gannon has brought over from the Philadelphia Eagles as he was their defensive coordinator last season.
It will be interesting to see the adjustments head coach Brain Daboll can make to get this Giants team back on track.
