Falcons vs Saints Week 12 Game Recap
The Week 12 Matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints has huge stakes and could play a huge role in determining who wins the division.
The Saints’ offense started this game off strong. They drove down the field and scored a field goal to take a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. On the other hand, the Falcons offense was struggling to get anything going and they had yet to score. As the Saints were driving down the field again, Derek Carr threw a pick-six to Jessie Bates and this put Atlanta on the board.
The Saints would come back down the field and hit another field goal to make it a one point deficit. Desmond Ridder then led the offense down the field and Bijan Robinson finished things off to give Atlanta a 14-6 lead. The Saints would add yet another field goal, and went into the half trailing 14-9 after Ridder threw an interception right before half.
There wasn't much scoring in the third quarter as the Saints pulled closer and made it 14-12 going into the fourth. In the fourth, Ridder threw his second interception. However, Jessie Bates made yet another huge play as he forced a fumble to give the offense the ball back. This was when the Falcons took control of the game. Bijan Robinson ended up scoring another touchdown and the Falcons led the rest of the way as they won the game 24-15. Drake London and Bijan Robinson led the way for the Falcons offense, and Jessie Bates was the unquestioned MVP of this game for Atlanta. Chris Olave had over 100 yards receiving and was on his way to even more before he got hurt and had to enter concussion protocol.
The Falcons and Saints both move to 5-6. However, the Falcons lead the division due to the tiebreaker.
Atlanta faces the Jets next weekend and the Saints will face the Lions.
