Eagles Week 6 Takeaways and Week 7 Preview
In week 6 the Eagles faced off against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night. Personally, I think this was a game that most Eagles fans went into without high hopes. Tom Brady is such a spectacular athlete and makes playing the game look so easy, especially with all the weapons that the Buccaneers have. The Eagles definitely tried to put a fight in this games, and at times they did make really great plays that definitely could helped us out, especially as the game came to a close. The Eagles made a great comeback toward the end of the game, but it was still just “too little too late”. The Eagles lately have been a second half team, which has not been allowing them to finish games the way they need to to win. Overall, even with the mini comeback the Eagles started we were still riddled with Jalen Hurts’ inaccurate passes and Sirianni’s only passing play calling. Miles Sanders is an amazing player and has the potential to be a top back in this league, they just need to give him a chance and run more than 5 rushing plays all game. I went into much more detail about the way the Eagles have been operating this season during a Vibestream with a fellow intern, Robert, that you can access through the Relevnt App!
One thing that nobody can deny is that having a 2-4 record going into week 7 is not a good thing, especially seeing as how the Cowboys are dominating this season. If we want any shot at making it into the post season, we need to make changes and they need to start today with our week 7 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. For the most part, the Raiders have been a formidable team this season, only losing 2 games, 1 to the Chargers and the other to the Bears. Granted, the Raiders have had a big shake up over the last few weeks with the news about Jon Gruden coming out and him resigning, but the team itself is still there, and that is who has been winning the games. The Radiers defense has had a total of 16 sacks and 4 interceptions on the season, which means we have to watch out for that and either get the ball out quick or rely on the run game much more. The Raiders offense averages 24.5 points per game, but they have a very strong run game in Josh Jacobs, as well as weapons iin their receiving corp. The Eagles defense needs to be prepared for the run game, make plays on deep throws, and force turnovers. The Eagles offense needs to implement the run game much more, get the ball out of Hurts’ hands fast and not let him extend plays, and get open in coverage to make the throws easier on Hurts.
