Eagles Week 11 Vs. Week 12 Comparison
Week 11. Saints @ Eagles. Eagles DOMINATED. What a game it was. The Eagles run game which consisted of Miles Sanders, Jordan Howard, Boston Scott, and Jalen Hurts himself, put up great numbers. Overall, those 4 rushed for 242 yards and Hurts ran in 3 TDs on his own. Seeing Miles Sanders so active again was great to see. Sanders has always been a clutch running back, so seeing him come back from a few weeks off due to an injury and be the team’s leading rusher in terms of yards was so nice. However, he did have one fumble that was pretty crucial to the game, however, we were able to bounce back from it and still win by 11 points. Hurts was wild on his feet, rushing for 69 yards and 3 TDS. He didn’t do too bad in the passing realm this week, considering he had no INTs, that’s a win. The defense was also very strong with getting 2 interceptions in this game, one of them being a pick 6 by Slay. On all sides of the ball, the team was very cohesive and made a lot of great plays to do what they needed to in order to win.
However, once week 12 rolled around, that’s when things changed. Week 12 the Eagles made a trip to Metlife Stadium to face off against division rival, the New York Giants. There is only one word for this game, and that would be disaster. The Eagles looked like a complete mess and could not do anything right. I personally feel that the biggest reason we lost this game was Jalen Hurts, and I honestly think that a lot of Eagles fans feel that way as well. Hurts made a lot of really bad, inaccurate throws, which led to him throwing 3 interceptions. His overall QB rating for this game was 17.2, which I did not know was even possible to get. Watching the game back home with my family, the entire game I kept saying that Hurts did not look into the game at all. He looked like he had an attitude all game and did not want to be there and that translated into his play. I know we also shot ourselves in the foot with penalties, as well as a fumble by Boston Scott, but before this game, the Eagles had a true shot at getting into the playoffs in a Wild Card spot, or even with the ease of schedule, potentially silently passing Dallas for 1st place in the division. This game took away most, if not all of that hope for a lot of fans. When you look at week 11 and then week 12, it seemed like completely different teams took the field. Hopefully, they can get themselves together for week 13 against the Jets and can get back on track for the rest of the season.
