Deshaun Watson and the no team effect

Derrick Deshaun Watson was yet again rejected by an NFL team who never had any intentions of replacing the QB they had this past season.

The New York Giants owner John Mara said they wouldn’t be trading for Watson because of “legal issues and salary cap situations. “ They are in fact sticking with Daniel Jones. Despite the Giants 4-13 record, they will make due with Jones.

That leaves the question open to what team could possibly get Watson. Before his legal trouble, Watson completed 70% of his passes. At only 26 he has some years ahead of him if he can get through his legal trouble as well as get a team to sign him.

The Texans have moved on and have no desire to have him as the QB. The other teams that were interested in him when he first desired to be traded (pre legal issues) were the Miami Dolphins, the Eagles, the Patriots, WFT, and the Broncos. None of these panned out and it has been silence for the remainder of the season.

Now that the season has ended, the talk has stirred back up and with Watson’s legal troubles still in front of him, only time will tell if we will ever see Watson in a team jersey again.
