Dallas Win Streak Ends by Brocos Win 30-16

Fans were wondering when the Dallas Cowboys win streak would falter or not, and yesterday was that day. Jonathan Cooper and the Denver defense pestered Dak Prescott a lot more than the rookie’s first two sacks in the NFL showed. But the final score wasn’t a great reflection of the Broncos’ dominance.

Teddy Bridgewater threw for a touchdown and had a sneak attack going for another, and the Broncos stymied the NFL’s No. 1 team in the NFC East when it came down to a 30-16 victory on Sunday, ending the Cowboys’ infamous winning streak.

Prescott returned this game after recovering from the calf strain he suffered two or so weeks ago. Unfortunately, Prescott couldn’t get his team moving in the right direction until two meaningless late touchdowns that just barely avoided what would have been their worst loss at home since a couple of years ago.

The Cowboys bought into what the Broncos had to do in order to have a chance to slow the Cowboys down. Although according to Vic Fangio, they did more than that. Beyond Cooper’s pair of sacks, the Broncos (5-4) made Prescott uneasy in their first game since trading star pass rusher Von Miller— and with new team sacks leader Malik Reed inactive due to a hip injury.

Denver also began without a couple of players, such as Garett Bowles (ankle) and right tackle and right guard Bobby Massie and Graham Glasgow to ankle injuries. Still even without some of their players out on the field, the Broncos got their offense moving with the running game. Bridgewater’s 41-yard touchdown pass to Tim Patrick was a key factor to the them, as Patrick beat NFL interceptions leader Trevon Diggs at the goal line.

The message is don’t take the cheese, and frankly, we were outcoached, we were outplayed all the way through,”

The Cowboys were 0 for 4 on fourth downs, including failures on their first two possessions. Receiver Amari Cooper had his first drop of the season to force one of those failed fourth downs and Dallas finished with a season-low 290 yards. Obviously, this wasn’t the game for Dallas, and as McCarthy said, they were definitely outplayed. But as of now, the Cowboys still stand at No. 1 in the NFC East standings sitting at 6-2.

Up next the Cowboys play Atlanta at home next Sunday, and the Dallas Cowboys are looking to keep their loss at a minimum since they’re still seen as SuperBowl contenders.
