Cowboys Trade for Brandin Cooks

Dallas, Texas (PSF) - Jerry Jones has made another trade that benefits his team, the Dallas Cowboys. Early this morning, the Houston Texans traded speedy wide receiver Brandin Cooks to the Dallas Cowboys for a fifth and a sixth round pick. Cooks has been one of the more underrated receivers in the league for quite some time, putting up six 1,000 yard seasons.

After trading away All-Pro receiver Amari Cooper for quite literally a bag of chips last season, the Cowboys receiver room was a total failure outside of Ceedee Lamb. Brandin Cooks can still take the top off of opposing defenses with his blazing speed and can be the perfect receiver to compliment Ceedee Lamb. Even if this move ends up being a disaster for Dallas, Cooks is a free agent after the 2023-24 season. Dallas could still use another receiver in their offense, but as of right now, they are hoping Michael Gallup will return to his 2019-2021 version after a full year recovered from his torn ACL. Cooks is scheduled to make $18 million in guaranteed money next season, but somehow Jerry Jones was able to get Houston to pay $6 million of his contract, making the price cheaper for Dallas acquiring Brandin Cooks.

This was a great move for Dallas, making them a very strong threat in the NFC East heading into the 2023-24 season.
