The New York Giants faced off against the Dallas Cowboys Sept. 27. Riding on a high after the first two weeks of the season, New York went into the game with high energy and confidence.

After winning their home opener for the first time since 2016, the Giants went into their game against Dallas at a record of 2-0. Despite the fact that before Monday, the Cowboys were 9-1 against the Giants, New York was ready to bring the heat.

However, New York was not able to deliver. They fell short to Dallas 23-16

By the end of the first quarter the Cowboys took a three point lead. But quickly after by the second quarter Graham Gano tied the game with a 42-yard field goal.

This only did so much for the Giants momentum as less than two minutes later Brett Maher secured a field goal for the Cowboys. By the half, the Cowboys regained their lead of three over the Giants.

The third quarter is where it got interesting for the Giants. Not only did Gano tie the Cowboys yet again with a 51-yard field goal, but Saquan Barkley secured the first touchdown for New York after nearly forty minutes without one.

It was an impressive touchdown to say the least. Barkley managed to blow past the entire Cowboys defense and made it from the 36-yard line into the end zone.

Yet again the Cowboys came back, but this time with twenty seven seconds left in the third quarter. Ezekiel Elliot secured a 6-yard run and fled to the end zone against ten Giants defensive players. This was a major mistake on New Yorkโ€™s end, had it not happened, there could have been a different outcome.

Going into the fourth quarter, New York and Dallas had 13 a piece. Ceedee Lamb showed off his one handed catch in the end zone to put the Cowboys on top half way through the fourth.

When the two minute break hit the Giants started to loose it. Evan Neal intercepted Daniel Jonesโ€™ pass with a minute and seventeen seconds left. This allowed the Cowboys to keep possession for the rest of the game, securing a 23-16 win over the Giants and extending their winning streak over New York to ten.
