What should the Commanders do if they miss the playoffs?
LANDOVER, Mary. (PSF) - The Commanders are having a pretty good start to the season starting the season 2-0. There are still some problems that the team is facing that they should fix by next offseason to be able to compete in the future.
One of the things they should do it potentially find a new head coach. Ron Rivera has been the head coach for Washington since 2020. His first season as Commanders head coach, he brought the team to a 7-9 record and it was good enough to win the division and a playoff berth for the team.
Since then Ron Rivera has not brought the team back to the playoffs and has not had a winning season yet.
Another issue they should potentially fix is their QB situation. Sam Howell has played decently for the first couple of games and seem like he will be the starter for a lot of the games this season if he continues to play good. But, if he starts to have problems for multiple games then the Commanders should look into finding another QB after the season to take over and lead the team better.
The team should either find a very good veteran that will hit the free agency market to take the position or look into QB’s in the next draft and potentially be the franchise QB. There will be several options for them in the draft and could get someone very good if they are willing to trade up.
These are just a couple of thing that they should do next offseason to help the team become more successful in the future. As the season goes on, there can be more stuff that can come up that they should also fix during the offseason.
