Chiefs TE Travis Kelce Fine Being “Underpaid”

Kansas City, Missouri (PSF) - This year Travis Kelce has been the player of the year, not only for being the MVP for the Chief’s victory on the 2023 Super Bowl but also for being one of the players with the best progress through the years in a team in recent years. However, despite helping his team win not only one but two Super Bowls apparently, the player hasn’t been getting paid the great amount that we all thought.

Kelce has said in interviews that his managers are always commenting on how underpaid he is, for someone who achieved so much at the age of 33. His current contract is a four-year deal started in 2020, the total was of $57.25 million with the team paying him $14.3 million per year, no more than that in the remaining year of the pact. Despite being a great amount, many people have commented that this isn’t a great amount for a Super Bowl winner and one of the most popular players in the current league.

According to some research, Kelce makes less than compared to others players, people like Hunter Renfrow makes around $15.85 million and Courland Sutton who makes $15 million. One in particular that made people and Travis himself a bit surprised was Tyreek Hill, who was a former teammate of his and the top-paid WR ends up making around $30 million per season, pretty much more than double than what he makes.

However, unlike some common dramas that people would be expected to see Travis is not super depressed or angry about this. He said while he is angry about some of these deals and contract disputes made in the end, he is fine as long he gets to keep playing with the Chiefs and making a great career. A really interesting answer from the player, he is not a stereotypical player who cares more about money instead of the sport, he still has the fire and dedication for his team for years to come.

It’s a bit unfair that Kelce, who is a two-time Super Bowl winner, four-time All-Pro and eight-time Pro Bowler makes less than Tyreek Hill who while a good player hasn’t made the same level of achievement as Travis. However, it’s refreshing to see that the player is more interested in keep playing and winning for a great period of time than demanding more money per game.
