Chiefs take down the eagles, win super bowl 57
Glendale, Arizona (PSF) — Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have won Super Bowl 57 38-35 against Jalen Hurts the Philadelphia Eagles. This will be the Chiefs 2nd Super Bowl win in the last 4 years.
The Eagles got out to quick lead in the 1st quarter thanks to the first of three rushing touchdowns by quarterback Jalen Hurts. The Chiefs would answer quick on a touchdown pass to none other than Travis Kelce to tie the game. The Eagles would go on to score 17 points in the 2nd quarter and would enter halftime leading 24-14.
With Patrick Mahomes re-aggravating his high ankles sprain there were concerns with the health of the league MVP and whether or not he would be able to bring his team back in the second half of the game. Mahomes did just that with two passing touchdowns in the 4th quarter, one to a wide open Kadarius Toney and the other to a wide open Skyy Moore on back to back drives. This would eventually give the Chiefs a 35-27 lead, but that would not last long. The Eagles went down the field and scored a Jalen Hurts record setting 3rd rushing touchdown in the Super Bowl.
After going for two and tying the game at 35-35, the Chiefs were able to go down the field, thanks in part to controversial defensive holding call on a 3rd down. The Chiefs would then run out the clock, and make a game-winning field goal to win 38-35. Patrick Mahomes would be named Super Bowl MVP for the second time in his career.
