Chiefs Stuff Cowboys in 19-9 Win

The Kansas City Chiefs had played so horrendously on defense earlier in the season that fans were saying the matchup against the Cowboys would be a loss for Mahomes and his team. The Dallas Cowboys and their top-ranked offense felt confident that they could keep things rolling on Sunday night. So it was definitely a shocker when the outcome came out like it did on Sunday night.

Jones piled up 3 1/2 sacks while forcing a fumble and recovering one, and Charvarius Ward and L’Jarius Sneed picked off the Cowboy’s infamous quarterback Dak Prescott at crucial points in the game. All and all helping the AFC West-lading Chiefs roll out a 19-9 victory over the Cowboys inside the Arrowhead Stadium.

“We had a few rough weeks. We had a lot of guys injured. It wasn’t clicking. But when you take everything into consideration, we were still able to compete.”

The defense helped out Patrick Mahomes, who had 260 yards passing with an. interception and a fumble. Helaire added 63 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Chiefs (7-4) in his return from being injured. For the Chiefs, there’s been a lot of ups and downs in not only this season but also previous ones as well. Nevertheless, they are 4-0 against the NFC East and riding a four-game winning streak into its bye week. Overall the Chiefs have had games where they’re on top, scoring points left and rights, and then there are games where they’re not so lucky. But they still find a way to get a win.

Prescott was held to 216 yards passing and two interceptions for the Cowboys on Sunday, though he was missing a whole lot of help. Left tackle Tyron Smith missed his third straight game with an ankle injury, CeeDee Lamb sustained a concussion just before halftime, Amari Cooper, unfortunately, tested positive for COVID-19 on that Friday before the game, and Elliot appeared to tweak his ankle early on. Even though he finished through the game with 32 yards, it was obvious he wasn’t at his best.

We had a healthy 48 players ready to play. We had a number of guys that couldn’t play. That’s the NFL.”

Micha Parsons was the biggest spot for the Cowboys, (7-3) forcing a fumble and getting two more sacks, as the NFL’s highest-scoring offense was held to 5 of 15 on third down and 276 yards in total. The Cowboys had an opportunity to come out and play against a team that’s been in the Super Bowl the last two years. They had a chance to show their fans that they’re ready for the Super Bowl and be considered contenders. But even after this devastating loss, the Dallas Cowboys are a team that’s going to continue to give it their all.

All the Cowboys managed was Zuerlein’s field goal and they trailed 16-3 at the break. Zuerlein hit two more in the second half, and Harrison Butker added another field goal for the Chiefs as the teams traded silly mistakes that kept them from reaching the end zone. Mahomes had a pass bounce off Kelce’s hands another interception, while the Cowboys had a promising drive go hay-wire after a nasty false-start penalty.

Overall every week is a big challenge. Wins, Losses, ups, and downs— teams are favored sometimes and they get beat. And what teams like the Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs need to do is keep their nose to it and start bearing down and take each game as it comes and not rushing anything.
