CHICAGO (PSF) — The Tennessee Titans (0-1) lost to the Chicago Bears (1-0) by a score of 24-17. The Bears scored 21 unanswered points in the second half and capitalized on costly offensive plays.

The momentum first shifted in Chicago’s favor during the third quarter with under 10 minutes to go. Defensive end Daniel Hardy blocked a punt attempt by the Titans, which was then recovered by recent offseason acquisition in safety Jonathan Owens and returned for a touchdown.

The Bears continued to capitalize on mistakes from the offense, including two interceptions from Titans quarterback Will Levis. The first resulted in a pick-six from cornerback Tyrique Stevenson, and a game-sealing interception from CB Jaylon Johnson.

Another impact player for Chicago was DE Darrell Taylor who had seven tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble in his debut after being acquired from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a sixth-round pick two weeks prior.

The rookies didn’t perform as high as some fans thought they would in their debut. QB Caleb Williams only threw for 93 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions; meanwhile, wide receiver Rome Odunze only had one catch for 15 yards. Unfortunately for Bears fans, they will have to wait to see him back in action for a few weeks at best.

The injury revelation was first announced by NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero, stating that Odunze suffered an MCL sprain against the Titans. Earlier today, NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reported that the rookie suffered a grade 1 knee sprain and is currently seeking a second opinion.
