Cardinals Vs. Cowboys Preview
The Arizona Cardinals travel to Arlington, Texas Sunday afternoon to face the Dallas Cowboys. The Cardinals have now lost 3 games in a row including a devastating loss to the now 2-win Detroit Lions and are looking to avoid a 4-game losing streak. The Cardinals have missed star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins for two consecutive weeks now. Kyler Murray over the last two games has thrown for 502 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, 6 Y/A, 79.6 passer rating, and a 59.5% completion percentage. The previous two weeks they have scored their lowest point total this season with 12 points against the Lions and 16 against the Colts, averaging 14 points the past couple of weeks. The Cardinals struggle stopping the run allowing 4.4 yards per carry, however, they are a top 10 pass defense. Their defense was able to slow down Jonathan Taylor, although he did have 108 rushing yards on 27 carries.
The Dallas Cowboys are on a 4-game winning streak and are looking to add to that total in hopes of gaining the #1 seed in the NFC. The Cowboy’s Defense has been incredibly impressive during this 4-game win streak and the offense seems to have returned to what it was prior to Dak Prescott’s calf injury. Dak Prescott looked great against the Washington Football Team, he threw for 4 touchdowns, 330 yards, 8.5 Y/A, had a 131.4 passer rating, while completing 71.8% of his passes. Ezekiel Elliott’s knee is bothering him less as the weeks pass and Tony Pollard is still an explosive weapon. Dak Prescott’s primary weapon was Amari Cooper last Sunday and he was very productive catching 7 passes for 85 yards and a score.
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off of their most impressive and complete football game of the season, while the Cardinals are battling to win their first game in 4 weeks. This game will be competitive and close from start to finish. The Cardinals need balance in their offense to win this football game. Attempt to get the run game flowing and Kyler Murray needs to get the ball out of his hands quick to avoid pressure from Micah Parsons and company. Dak Prescott is the key player for the Dallas Cowboys this week. If Dak Prescott can replicate his play against Washington, there is no reason why the Cowboys should struggle to win this football game. The spread of this game has increased in the favor of the Cowboys to -6.5. I do not believe the Cowboys will cover, however, I do believe they will win this game.
Prediction: Cowboys 27- Cardinals 24
