Can Russell Wilson Turn the Broncos Around?

Denver, Colorado (PSF): Coming into the 2022 season the Seattle Seahawks traded Russell Wilson for the 2020 ninth overall pick, 2023 first round pick, two second round picks, a fifth round pick, tight end Noah Fant, and quarterback Drew Lock.

In the 2022 season a lot of people had the Denver Broncos as a Super Bowl bound team. With the great receiving core with Cortland Sutton and Jerry Judy. Also, with star sophomore year running back Javonte Williams and a great defense people thought they would be a great team.

The Broncos ended up finishing 4th in the AFC West going 5-12 and Russell Wilson had the worst season of his career. In week four Javonte Williams tore his ACL and everything went downhill from there. Wilson’s first season in Denver he threw for 3,524 yards, had 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. This was only his second year he has never made the Pro Bowl in his career.

Coming into the 2023 season there is again a lot of hope for this team. With new head coach and Super Bowl champion Sean Peyton who is considered one of the greatest coaches of all time there is a lot of hope this team. With Javonte Williams coming back and the wide receivers get another year with Russell Wilson. But, if the Broncos want to get anywhere where they need to be Russell Wilson has to get back to his old pro bowl caliber self. If everything goes to plan for the Broncos they should be able to make a wildcard game or win the division.
