Can Dak Prescott Have a Bounce Back Season?

Dallas, Texas (PSF) - Last season the Dallas Cowboys franchise quarterback Dak Prescott had a very disappointing year after having a career year in the 2021-22 NFL season. In the first game of the season last year against the Buccaneers, it was a very abysmal game for Dak and the rest of the Cowboys offense. The cherry on top of a horrible home opener for Cowboys fans was late in the fourth when Prescott was hit in the hand during a throw and after further testing, broke his finger. Prescott was ruled out for 6 games and looked like the season was coming to an end early.

The Cowboys actually surprised during Prescott’s absence going 4-2 during that six game stretch. When Dak came back he looked rough and rusty and you could tell something was off. A lot of his blame was going to his lack of talent in his receiving core and the other blame was going to the poor play calling of then offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Dak went on to have the worst season of his career in which he led the NFL in interceptions despite missing six games due to injury. He had a great wildcard performance against Tampa Bay but then followed it with a historically bad divisional round performance against San Francisco.

Dallas has to figure out if they want to extend Dak after next season, so we could be witnessing a make or break season for Prescott himself. The question is, can he return to his 2018-2021 form where he was playing like an elite quarterback. I think Dak could win MVP next year and the front office and Cowboys fans could honestly care less, because all he needs to prove is if he can make it to the Super Bowl, ending Dallas’s historically long drought.
