Some Realistic (And Some Bold) Predictions For the Eagles

After the first week of football, the Eagles looked good. But before this week’s Monday Night Football game there were still some big question marks that the Birds left unaddressed.

The first and fourth quarters seemed to belong to the Lions, while the middle half of the game was dominated by the Eagles. Then this past Monday, they came out and beat the Vikings in convincing fashion. Since we now have two weeks worth of football to look at, here are some early realistic and some way out there goals for the birds this year.

Realistic:

The first thing that I would almost expect at this point is a NFC East title. The way that the offense is playing with Jalen Hurts at the helm is beautiful. He currently has three rushing touchdowns through two games and his ability to pass on the run has increased significantly since last year. While there are still some concerns about spreading the ball around a bit more, I can see Hurts bringing the birds to at least a NFC East title. The Giants are off to a good start and the Commanders are going to be decent, but the way the Birds defense is playing, I am very confident we can shut down Daniel Jones and Carson Wentz with our defensive line pressure, and we can lock down their receivers with Darius Slay, James Bradberry and Avonte Maddox. With all of our weapons, new and old, I see the Eagles getting through to at least the divisional round, possibly even with a bye week.

Bold Predictions:

Now for the juicy bold predictions. There was a post I saw the other day that said the United States physically, economically, and structurally could not handle a Bills versus Eagles Super Bowl, which is beyond true, but after the first two weeks that happening doesn’t seem as out there as some may think. The first bold prediction is that the Eagles will get the bye week in the NFC. They have a much easier schedule than other competing teams, and there are not too many other teams that will be able to challenge the Eagles record at the end of the year. While the conference championship seems to be practically within a fingertips reach if the Eagles keep this up, getting to and winning a Super Bowl will require them to play full four quarter games and not just showing up for two or three like they have these first two weeks. They have the perfect combination of weapons, experience, and drive to win that will lead them to the promised land once more.
