On Friday, Arizona Cardinals star safety Budda Baker has announced that he is requesting a trade out of Arizona. He was either looking for an extension or to be traded and in the end, Budda Baker requested the trade. The extension that Budda Baker was looking for give him the largest contract for a safety.

Unfortunately for the Cardinals, they look like they will be in a decline going into next year. Losing Kyler Murray to a torn ACL against New England last season was another icing to the cake as Murray is expected to return midseason into the 2023 season.

The five-time Pro Bowler is still only 27-years-old and is still looking to hit a payday. As of right now, his contracts is still owing him $13.09 million in 2023 while 2024 will be $14.2 million. Cardinals currently hold on to the third overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, there is many rumors that the Cardinals plan on trading that draft pick for something for valuable to them.

If Arizona trades away Budda Baker, it seems like a full rebuild is bound to happen for the organization. Baker is not the first Cardinal this offseason to be around trade rumors; DeAndre Hopkins is one of the other Cardinal players expected to be moved before the start of the 2023 NFL Season.
