They Are Who We Thought They Were

After a devasting home loss versus the Philadelphia Eagles, the Denver Broncos enter their Week 11 bye with major questions and opportunities for change.

However, with change comes tough decisions, and what Chad Jensen of MMH (Mile High Huddle) would put it as “pride” possibly getting away from such adjustments being made. Whether it be through Vic Fangio, Pat Shurmur, or even Mike Shula; offensively the Broncos have several questions to answer. Defensively week by week the Broncos are starting to gain their energy, swag, and momentum back but the problem is not just the gameplan of the coaches but the inconsistencies that slowly injure the Broncos possession by possession. Shown by their fourth-quarter excitement preventing a red zone Eagles possession despite being down by more than 10+ points. As last week’s overall performance was not just a trap game but the Broncos allowing the Eagles to beat them.

So with this bye week what should the Broncos do? The first move made by Fangio was his denial to start Drew Lock maybe because of pride or deciding himself Bridgewater was the starter. The second move made this week was the extension of Tim Patrick, which may lead to the extension of Courtland Sutton in the offseason. Which so far is the last worthy news right now. But in my opinion, there is much more to be done from now to the end of this season. As some options include coaching changes, position overview, and lastly a change in attitude. Due to the disconnect between the players and coaching staff as tension is starting to heat up.

Although we don’t truly have a solution to better this season, the Broncos are 5-5 and still in a good position to make the wildcard via winning the AFC West led by the 6-4 Kansas City Chiefs who themselves are building some questionable momentum. As Chargers and Raiders are tied with a 5-4 record with the Raiders having a one-game win over the Broncos if the division were to end in a tie. However, with that being said nearly five of the final seven games are against division rivals, leaving it up to Broncos to decide their fate. Will they win their division or will the Broncos miss the playoffs for the sixth consecutive season.
