Bills to be Tested by Fire in Game Against Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings, with a 7-1 record, are favorites to win this Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills, but no one would count the Bills out just yet.

Despite having lost last week to the New York Jets, the Bills still have one of the best records in the league at 6-2. But the team isn’t in question now, just Josh Allen’s eligibility to play on Sunday.

Allen has thrown for a total of 2,403 yards this season with 19 touchdowns, eight interceptions, and a quarterback rating of 99.2 so his talent is nothing to sneeze at, but he did sustain an elbow injury last week in the game against the Jets.

As of right now, Bills Head Coach, Sean McDermott, reports that there is nothing medical to report on Allen’s injury, but he was also not seen playing during the team’s practice on Wednesday.

If Allen is unable to play, that puts all the pressure on back-up quarterback, Case Keenum, and third string quarterback, Matt Barkley, to win this upcoming and massively influential game against the second-best team in the NFC.

Matt Barkley is tested as he was drafted in 2013 to the Philadelphia Eagles, but even with 10 years of experience in the league, he has only played in 19 games and thrown for a total of 2,699 yards with 22 interceptions.

Case Keenum, on the other hand, went undrafted in 2013 but has played in 78 games, thrown for 14, 884 yards, and has 78 touchdowns to his name. Keenum has been battle tested and seems ready for the challenge under the leadership of Sean McDermott and with the help of Stefon Diggs and Devin Singletary.

Facing the Vikings is not likely to be an easy challenge nor are they a team to underestimate as they haven’t had a loss since Week 2 against the Eagles.

Josh Allen may play on Sunday, but Keenum needs to be ready to take up the reins to lead the team to another victory and remind the league that they are on a path leading to the Super Bowl.
