Another New Orleans Native returns home
On May 13th, after signing Louisiana native Tyrann Mathieu the previous week beforehand, they signed another hometown hero and five-time pro bowler Jarvis Landry to a one-year contract worth $6 million according to NFL network's Tom Pelissero. Landry was a free agent after spending Four Seasons with the Cleveland Browns.
According to ESPN writer Mike Triplett, “Landry, 29, has 688 receptions for 7,598 yards and 37 touchdowns in eight seasons with the Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns.” Having these outstanding stats along with his physicality and out of this world catching ability that is like his former teammate Odell Beckham Junior, Jarvis Landry will be a great addition to the New Orleans Saints.
Adding Laundry to a team that already has Jameis Winston, Alvin Kamara, and former top five receiver Michael Thomas, gives the New Orleans Saints a lot of potential to go far this season. Since being drafted in 2014, Jarvis Landry is second in yards after catch, 4th in receptions, and 9th in receiving yards among all active players.
The Saints will most likely have Landry in the slot with Michael Thomas and Chris Olave playing on the outside. Let's hope that this offense can pan out just as well during the season as they do on paper.
