AFC East Showdown: Who Will Rise?

This Sunday the 5-3 New York Jets face the goliaths of the AFC East, the 6-1 Buffalo Bills. Will the Bills remain the undisputed conquerors of the division?

The Bills are only second in the entire league for points scored per game and first in not only total yards per game, but also in passing yards per game and points allowed against per game.

Compared to this, the best the Jets have come are being fourth in the league for interceptions while the Bills, again, are in second place.

Josh Allen has been leading the Bills on a rampage towards the playoffs and it seems like they will get there. The Bills have one of the best records in the league, second only to the Philadelphia Eagles who are currently undefeated at 8-0.

The Jets are just coming from a 22-17 loss to the New England Patriots who were then 3-4 to the Jets 5-2 record. The Jets were the favorites to win the game, but their defense was unable to hold off Rhamondre Stevenson and Mac Jones.

In contrast to the Patriots offense, Josh Allen is a 6’5”, 237 lbs. quarterback that has thrown for 2,198 yards and rushed for 306 yards. A giant in his own right, he is paired with Devin Singletary who has rushed for 323 yards and Stefon Diggs who has 764 receiving yards.

Von Miller, known for applying pressure to quarterbacks and forcing sacks or interceptions, is also reported to be playing in this week’s game.

Zach Wilson and the Jets will be forced to be on their A-game to get a chance out of the Wild Card and earn a spot in the playoff seeds.

Odds are that the Bills will come out 7-1, but, after the trade deadline, it would be surprising to not see at least a few upsets in Week 9.
