ESPN

When Rodgers decided to move on from Green bay there were not a lot of teams attempting to get him. The New York Jets were considered the only team that was trying their hardest to get him.

New England made an offer to Green Bay but it wasn’t enough to get their quarterback. Head Coach Bill Belichick did not want to give away too many good assets and affect the teams future negatively.

Rodgers’ agent stated that he and Rodgers think that New England is not a good fit for Rodgers and that they are going to New York.

There were also some speculation that Rodgers would not have a good relationship with Belichick because the head coach is known for being hard and rough his players and Rodgers did not want that.

The Jets adding Nathaniel Hackett to the coaching staff definitely helped Rodgers decision to come to New York. Rodgers has had a good relationship with Hackett since he was there to coach Rodgers in Green Bay years prior.
