A Bears Fan’s Reaction to Week 3 Bears-Chiefs

At least we didn’t get shut out, right?

That’s the genuine question I’ve been asking after I was forced to watch that abysmal performance. I thought we couldn’t get worse than last week against the Buccaneers. I expected a loss, but not this much. What’s the meme? Our expectations for you were low but what the—

Not finishing that, anyway this team has been slowly ripping my sanity from my head and soul over the last couple of years. This was it. I have no hope for the rest of the season unless we go undefeated for the rest of it. That is impossible so I am confident in saying we are done. Worst team of the NFL by a country mile. At least the Broncos put up 20 points against the Dolphins. The Vikings nearly beat the Chargers in a back-and-forth offensive showdown. We meanwhile only got 10 points, another interception from our signal caller, and now the apathy around our fanbase is Chernobyl levels of radioactivity.

Quarterback Justin Fields threw for 99 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Enough said, that was a horrible game, I have given up. We ruined another QB. Hope we don’t ruin the next one.

Rushing game was a combination of Fields, who ran for 47 yards. As well as running back Roschon Johnson and RB Khalil Herbert. Who ran for 38 and 31 yards respectively.

Wide receiver D.J. Moore caught the lone touchdown while also getting 41 receiving yards. Next best receiver of the game was tight end Cole Kmet who had 22 yards off of two catches. WR Darnell Mooney was a non-factor. No receiving yards for two weeks straight.

The defense could not stop QB Patrick Mahomes as I expected. But giving up 41 points is unacceptable. Linebacker Jack Sanborn although did get one interception off of QB Blaine Gabbert who came in for relief of Mahomes. The other interception thrown by Gabbert to safety Quindell Johnson. Two nice highlights in a defense that got destroyed by the Chiefs.

Reaction

There is nothing much else to say. The season is over, the coaching staff needs to be fired and Poles has one chance to start clean. Bring in an experienced playcaller to help the offense. Do not hire a defensive coordinator as a head coach. Bring an experienced DC to call the plays for the defense and only the defense. Draft a center or someone on the defense with one of our top 10 picks since we will get two. Spend some money in free agency to help both sides of the ball. Enough said. This season is going to drain what little sanity I have left on a consistent basis.
