JPA’s Week 2 Game Picks

Washington vs Giants: As a Washington fan, I would’ve never picked against them in this situation, especially against the Giants. What a crazy game that was though, right? Washington may have a quarterback in Taylor Heinicke. Washington wins 30-29.

Patriots vs Jets: Give me the Patriots. It’s going to take the Jets some time to mesh with all of those young players in the building, not to mention a rookie coach. Maybe sometime soon they’ll be able to compete, but that time is not now. Patriots win 24-13.

Broncos vs Jaguars: Give me Denver in this one. Denver is more talented than Jacksonville across the board and I don’t trust Urban Meyer. Think the Broncos take off early and then cruise to a victory. Broncos win 31-10.

Bills vs Dolphins: I think with risking an 0-2 start, Buffalo will bounce back in a big way tomorrow against a tough rival opponent. Josh Allen an Co. will put up points that Tua Tagovailoa simply cannot. Bills win 27-20.

49ers vs Eagles: Eagles looked very good last week, but it was against Atlanta so how much of it can we buy into? With that being said, I’m taking the 49ers. San Francisco can flat out score points and despite a shaky showing last week against the Lions, I still think their defense will be a good unit in 2021. 49ers win 28-17.

Rams vs Colts: Upset of the week here, as I’ll be taking the Colts in a nail biting win. Colts don’t want to get to an 0-2 start, and I think their run game will give LA fits. Colts win 21-20.

Raiders vs Steelers: I’ll be taking Pittsburgh in this one. Raiders looked great last week against Baltimore, but I like the matchup of Pittsburgh’s defensive line against the Raiders’ offensive line. They will be harrassing Derek Carr all day and force him to make a few mistakes. Steelers win 24-17

Bengals vs Bears: Another ‘upset’ here if you can call it that. Andy Dalton may have revenge on his mind tomorrow, but he won’t get it. The Bengals might not have a winning record this year, but they have an offense that can score points. The Bears simply don’t have an offense that can keep up. I also think their defense is slightly overrated. Bengals will be 2-0 tomorrow. Bengals win 27-20

Texans vs Browns: Texans may have gotten a win last week, but it doesn’t mean much. They were playing a very lackluster Jaguars team that debatably could be less talented than Houston. The Browns will be a rude awakening for them for a multitude of reasons. Browns win 35-14

Saints vs Panthers: Jameis Winston and the Saints shocked the entire world when they absolutely slaughtered reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers and the Packers 38-3. They caught fire and I expect them to keep that fire going tomorrow against a young Panthers team with a lot of talent but a lot of room for growth. Saints win 24-21

Falcons vs Buccaneers: My lock of the week here, as I see Tampa Bay winning very comfortably. Losing 32-6 to the Eagles, a team that many left for dead this season, is just a horrible look for this Falcons team. If the Eagles can hang 32 on Atlanta’s defense, I’m mortified to see what Tampa Bay does. Buccaneers win 35-17

Vikings vs Cardinals: The Vikings would love to get a win this week and avoid an 0-2 start, but I don’t see it happening for them. Arizona is simply the better team on both offense and on defense. With that being said, I think Justin Jefferson has a HUGE game. Cardinals win 31-21

Cowboys vs Chargers: I fully expect this game to be a shootout. The Cowboys’ defense wasn’t good coming into the season and they are now down multiple starters, including star pass rusher Demarcus Lawrence. The Chargers have talent on defense, but I just don’t see them (or anyone for that matter) being able to contain this explosive Dallas offense, even without Michael Gallup. I’m giving Dallas the edge. Cowboys win 35-28

Titans vs Seahawks: I’m picking the Titans here in what will be considered an upset. I think Tennessee gets to a hot and early lead and will ride Derrick Henry to victory. Titans win 24-17.

Chiefs vs Ravens: Lamar Jackson hasn’t won a game against Patrick Mahomes yet in 3 attempts, and I don’t see that changing tomorrow. The Chiefs offense should be able to have their way against Baltimore. Without a legitimate run game to lean on, Lamar will have to throw 35+ times to stay in the game. Chiefs win 31-24

Lions vs Packers: This is a critical game for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. There’s a lot of negative attention on them right now after that brutal beat down the Saints handed to them. There’s even some people talking about Jordan Love potentially getting a look at QB1. This needs to be a ‘get back’ game for Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay, and I think that’s what they’ll do. Packers win 28-7.
