nfl week 10 preview and predictions

We are officially in the thick of November, and November is where the contenders separate themselves from the pretenders. We have some incredibly interesting Week 10 matchups ending with an NFC East showdown on Monday Night. I bounced back in a huge way last week, going 10-3 in my predictions. I took the 6-7 Week 8 personally, and delivered a stellar performance. Let’s get into the preview.

Record YTD: 16-10

TNF: Atlanta Falcons (4-5) at Carolina Panthers (2-7)

If I told you at the beginning of the season that this Week 10 game between Carolina & Atlanta had playoff implications, you would have told me to seek help. However, the Falcons & Panthers are both still in the race for NFC South crown, as every team is under .500. These teams played almost a week ago in Atlanta, where the Falcons won 37-34 in OT. I think Atlanta gets it done again.

Atlanta 27-20.

seattle Seahawks (6-3) at tampa bay buccaneers (4-5)

Tampa enters coming off their biggest win of the season, taking down the defending Super Bowl Champion Rams 16-13 in Week 9. It was a season saving win, and they look to build on it in Germany. They are taking on a tough Seattle team, that has exceeded all expectations. Geno Smith is playing like a franchise QB, and their defense has looked phenomenal. However, I like the Bucs to build on their performance last week.

Bucs 24-20.

Cleveland browns (3-5) at miami dolphins (6-3)

The Miami Dolphins offense looked incredible against the Bears in Week 9, scoring 35 points and only punting once. Tua Tagovailoa has established himself as an MVP candidate and Tyreek Hill is on pace to break Calvin Johnson’s single season receiving yards record. They welcome the Cleveland Browns, who are coming off a spectacular Monday Night Football performance against the Bengals. This game will come down to the Dolphins offense against the Browns front 7. I Like the Dolphins offense against a weak Cleveland secondary.

Dolphins 31-20.

Denver broncos (3-5) at Tennessee titans (5-3)

After a tough Sunday Night Football loss to Kansas City, Tennessee returns home to face the Broncos, who are fresh off a bye week. The Titans have one of the best rush defenses in the NFL, so they will force Russell Wilson to air it out. Although their passing defense is weak, I do not have much confidence in Wilson.

Titans 24-13.

Detroit lions (2-6) at chicago bears (3-6)

Justin Fields has arrived. Fields delivered a historic performance against the Dolphins in Week 9, breaking Michael Vick’s single game rushing record for a QB, with 178 yards on the ground. He looked comfortable in the pocket, and extremely elusive in the open field. Detroit travels to Chicago following an emotional victory over rival Green Bay at home. Their defense has phenomenal, holding the Packers to 9 points. The question is: Can they stop Justin Fields? I say no, I think the Bears found their offense.

Bears 35-30.

houston texans (1-6-1) at new york giants (6-2)

The Giants enter fresh off a bye week, and gearing for a playoff push. They will take on a collapsing Houston Texans steam that is likely gearing up for the #1 pick, rather than a playoff spot. Although, the Giants have had a favorable schedule, I believe they continue to get it done on the ground, and move to 7-2.

Giants 27-17.

Jacksonville jaguars (3-6) at kansas city chiefs (6-2)

Both teams fresh off come from behind victories in Week 9, the Chiefs and Jaguars face off in Kansas City. The Chiefs, winners of 4 of their last 5, look to move to 7-2 and move up the AFC standings. The Jaguars are trying pull off a major upset and creep back into the AFC South race. With the second best pass offense in the NFL, I believe Mahomes has a field day, but it this game will be closer than you might expect.

Chiefs 34-27.

Minnesota vikings (7-1) at buffalo bills (6-2)

Week 10 of the NFL season and the Minnesota Vikings own a better record than the Buffalo Bills. There would not have been a lot of people betting on that at the beginning of the season. The Vikings are winners of 6 straight, with all games being decided by one possession. Their offense has looked rejuvenated under first year coach Kevin O’Connell. Th Bills enter coming off a stunning loss to the Jets where QB Josh Allen injured his UCL. I believe the Bills will rest Allen, as they are probably going to think long-term. Case Keenum would then take over the starting position. The problem is Allen does everything for the Bills on offense.

Give me the Vikings 27-20.

New Orleans saints (3-6) at Pittsburgh steelers (2-6)

Two teams heading in the same direction: down. Mike Tomlin is on his way to his first losing season of his career, and the Saints are somehow still in the running for the NFC South crown. Andy Dalton has not been able to get the job done, and Kenny Pickett is doing his best to revive an offense that just traded away Chase Claypool. This game will be heavily decided upon who’s defense plays better. Even with TJ Watt back, I think New Orleans gets it done on the road.

Saints 24-14.

Indianapolis colts (3-5-1) at las vegas raiders (2-6)

Hello Jeff Saturday. The Colts made the long overdue firing of Frank Reich official this past week, and made the shocking hire of Jeff Saturday. Jeff Saturday will look to help an offense that has scored an average of 14.5 points in their past three games. The Colts may be in a poor position, but the Las Vegas Raiders may be even worse. The Raiders are struggling mightily both offensively and defensively. The Raiders give up an average of 371.3 yards per game this season, good for 5th worst in the league. This will be a battle of ugly vs uglier.

Give me a motivated Colts team to upset the Raiders. Colts 27-24.

arizona cardinals (3-6) at los angeles rams (3-5)

Talk about a Super Bowl hangover. The Rams have one of the NFL’s worst offenses as they have not been able to run the ball to save their lives. They average 68.4 yards per game, good for second worst in the NFL. The Cardinals have also been disappointing, as Kliff Kingsbury’s seat is getting hotter by the day. The Cardinals give up the second most points in the NFL at 26.8 per game. So, what happens when a bad offense meets a bad defense? You get the Rams & the Cardinals. In Week 3, the Rams beat the Cardinals 20-12.

Give me the Rams again. Rams 21-13.

dallas cowboys (6-2) at green bay packers (3-6)

The Green Bay Packers are a mess. They are 3-6, losers of 5 in a row. Injuries are piling up on both sides of the ball, and Aaron Rodgers has not played like his usual self. Rodgers is 27th in QBR, and 18th in completion percentage. Not your typical Rodgers. Rodgers invites the Cowboys to Green Bay, as they are 6-2 and coming off a bye. Dallas has run the ball effectively their last two times, thanks in part to Tony Pollard. Although, I believe Dallas is the better team, I like Green Bay to somehow pull off the upset.

Packers 30-27.

SNF: Los angeles chargers (5-3) at san francisco 49ers (4-4)

Plagued by multiple injuries, the Chargers look to travel to San Francisco and pull off a big win. The Chargers have struggled out of the gate, as injuries on defense have put their defense in the bottom half of the league. This is concerning, as they are going up against Christian McCaffery and Deebo Samuel in this one. McCaffery threw for a TD, ran for a TD, and caught a TD in their Week 8 win over the Rams. I think McCaffery and Samuel will be too much for an injured Chargers defense to handle.

49ers 35-28.

MNF: Washington commanders (4-5) at philadelphia eagles (8-0)

The undefeated Philadelphia Eagles welcome the Washington Commanders to Philadelphia for a Monday Night divisional showdown. The Eagles have looked like the best team in the NFL, getting it done offensively and defensively. AJ Brown & Jalen Hurts have looked like a match made in heaven. Meanwhile, the Commanders have won 2 of their last 3 since turning to Taylor Heinicke at QB. In Week 3, the Eagles defeated the Commanders 24-8. I like the Eagles to beat the Commanders again, and keep the undefeated season alive.

Eagles 30-20.
