Upcoming game for the Lions and 49ers is going to be a good one. Dan Campbell has brought fire to the Lions and have made them a winning team in little time. They now sit one win away from the Super Bowl. The opening game of the 2021 season marked the last meeting between the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers. It was Dan Campbell's first game as Head Coach of the Lions, and it took place at Ford Field. Even though it was just a game for the 49ers, it was a crucial one in Lion’s history, since it formally signaled the beginning of a new era.

In the present, both sides will square off in the NFC Championship on Sunday, marking yet another pivotal moment in Lions history. The Lions are 60 minutes away from their first ever Super Bowl appearance.

The health of wide receiver Deebo Samuel was one of the main concerns 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan addressed with reporters on Wednesday in relation to Sunday's game. The Lions' defense, particularly the secondary, was one of the main subjects discussed. The emphasis was placed on how, despite their low stature, they are major playmakers.

"You see numbers, and in the pass game, you see 31st, I believe, but you kind of realize how they are—they're aggressive in what they do," Shanahan remarked. They're prone to big plays since they mix things up, but they rank fourth in terms of negative plays. This is a game in fact you don’t want to miss, because I know it’s going to go down to the wire.
