NFL Pick'em: My Weekly Pick

For those who are just joining us, I’ve entered a NFL Pick’em tournament. The concept is simple, pick one team to win each week, no reusing teams, ties count as losses, if you pick wrong, you’re out, the last man standing gets the pot. Simple enough when its your friends playing, but when it becomes a 50-60 person league and everyone is buying in for $50-$100, you can see the incentive to putting a lot of effort into picking right (6000 reasons not to pick wrong to be exact). Well this year I just so happen to find myself a part of one of these leagues, and I thought it’d be a cool series to keep my viewers updated on just how long I last (hopefully till the end). Each week i’ll post my pick for the week and feel free to follow it, or not, I’m really just trying to have fun (and make some money).

The Tompa Bay Buccaneers took care of business as we expected last week against Miami. We loved seeing Brady in MVP form and we cant wait to see the GOAT in the postseason (I hated Brady too but at a point you just gotta’ appreciate greatness). Another great pick in the Bucs, and there wasn’t really any doubt in this one. Miami kept it close in the beginning, but it ended up being a fairly lopsided game, as we had hoped. Unfortunately, the week was fruitful for a lot of people, and when I say a lot of people I mean everyone… A bunch of people picked the Patriots, Vikings, and Ravens last week, and we had to watch all those teams barely squeak out victories to keep all those nail-biters alive (C’mon Detroit, y’all had it in the bag). So with this being said, 31 people still remain. At this point the game is just as much rooting for your own team as it is rooting against the others. Lets get into the pick…

My Pick for Week 6: Los Angeles Rams (@NYG)

Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams have been looking like a Super Bowl contender this season and we couldn’t hold off another week. Looking at the schedule, we still have great teams like the Cardinals, Chargers, and Chiefs to pick from, but we had to use up another good one this week with the Rams. Playing at New York against a recently concussed Daniel Jones bodes well for the Rams chances to take one on the road. Nothing is ever certain, but I think they continue their hot streak and take down the Giants. Let’s hope Stafford and the Rams can pull this one out and keep our chances alive! So far we are 5 for 5 with our picks and we want the perfect streak going! Lets go Rams! Hopefully we’ll see you back here next week…
