3 Keys for the Denver Broncos to beat the Buffalo Bills

The Denver Broncos (3-5) will be visiting the Buffalo Bills (5-4) for Week 10’s edition of Monday Night Football.  Denver is coming off a bye week hoping to continue with the game plan they have.  Buffalo is coming off of a tough 24-18 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his team are looking to get back on track this week against the Broncos.

Get the run game going

The ground game hasn’t been the most impressive thing for this Denver offense with only one rushing touchdown this season and the leading rusher being running back Javonte Williams with 357 yards.  Buffalo has been getting the run defense going a little bit but running behind guard Quinn Meinerz, who was rated one of the highest for pass blocking in 2023. All three wins from this season at least one of the running backs had over 70+ rushing yards.  This would be a huge part if they can get this going.

Pressure on Josh Allen

This Broncos defense has been on a great incline and getting linebacker Baron Browning back these last couple of weeks, recording two sacks and a forced fumble shows what this defense is truly made of. Allen is currently tied for most interceptions in the league with nine and has seven fumbles with three of them lost.  Pressure equals panic, and when he starts to panic it sometimes forces turnovers which can 100% win this game for Denver.

Play calling/scheme

The Broncos’ playcalling has been a major advantage for the team in the past few games they’ve played. Against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8, Broncos QB Russell Wilson threw under 10 passes past the line of scrimmage. He resorted to many wide receiver screens and check-downs. This definitely worked against the Chiefs, and seeing that the Bills run a similar defensive scheme to Kansas City, so this strategy will likely remain useful. Broncos offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi had some questionable calls in their last game, but the team’s execution worked out. Capitalizing on the same scheme as was played against the Chiefs is vital if the Broncos want to come away from Monday Night Football with another win.
