Collapse in Tennessee, Mike Vrabel fired by the Tennessee Titans

Head coach Mike Vrabel, the man that has led the Tennessee Titans as their head coach for the past six seasons, has just been fired after a 6-11 season. Vrabel recorded a record of 54-45 during his time with the Titans, and also had three playoff appearances with one season making the AFC  championship game, falling to that Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 35-24.

Vrabel did have success in Tennessee the first four years, but after that Vrabel in his last two seasons lost 18 out of 24 games which created a downfall for the organization. Although Vrabel has been fired, there are a couple of teams that he could take his knowledge to as a head coach having four winning seasons out of the six.

  1. Atlanta Falcons

With the recently fired head coach Arthur Smith, this would be a great fit for Mike Vrabel to take over. He will stay in the south, but in the NFC instead, which should somewhat be easier for him since that division always struggles with having a clear division winner. The Falcons run a similar playstyle like the Titans and what Vrabel has had before with former Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota who is now with the Philadelphia Eagles. Even though Vrabel won’t have players such as Mariota, and running back Derrick Henry, he has a similar build of players like quarterback Desmond Ridder, and rookie running back Bijan Robinson. If the Falcons take a chance on Vrabel, there may be some hope on how things can turn around for Atlanta.

2. Washington Commanders

After the recent dismissal of Ron Rivera only obtaining a 26-40-1 record in only four seasons, Mike Vrabel can help lift this team back into a winning organization with the young talent Washington currently has. The Commanders are led currently by quarterback Sam Howell, wide receiver Terry McLaurin, and defensive lineman Jonathan Allen. Even though the Commanders are ranked 24th offensively and were last defensively this season, they show promise with the young roster they hold. All Vrabel needs is time to use the draft picks given, and the development of rookies that started this season to lift this team back to the winning culture.

3. Carolina Panthers
With the Carolina Panthers firing Frank Reich midseason at a 1-10 record, the Panthers are in search of a new head coach, which might be the spot Mike Vrabel could end up at. The Panthers ranked last offensively and ranked 4th defensively, so once the offense finds its high point with quarterback Bryce Young, running backs Chuba Hubbard, and Miles Sanders, and wide receiver Adam Thielen, they can be a good team in the running to win the NFC South with the presence of Mike Vrabel as their head coach.

So where will Mike Vrabel end up, who knows he has many options with the resume he brings to the table uplifting an organization back to playoff contention with the right players, and staff around him.
