What Are Those?!?

Foxborough, Massachusetts (PSF) - Do people still ever do that?  I’m honestly not sure but I believe that was out a long time ago.  Maybe we should bring it back!  Anyways what I meant to talk about is what in the hell was Jerod Mayo wearing at the Patriots preseason game against the Texans?

I mean those things came straight from the Army issue box.  Scott Zolak first pointed them out asking what the thought process was behind wearing something like that.  All I could think of is that Jerod is ready to go to war!  I also looked at it and said damn those things have a TON of ankle support.  Those things go half way up his shins!  And as someone who has notoriously weak ankles, I’m talking just look at a basketball court…ankle rolls.  I'd be all over them if I was ever to try to be anything resembling athletic in a hiking type situation.  I just assume that’s where you’d wear those bad boys under normal circumstances, but I digress.

Now don’t get it twisted, the Patriots season is going to be a battle this year.  Getting to a 10 win total will take every bit of a top five defense like we had in 2022.  I also believe Belichick loves this type of move as he’s a big armed services type of guy.  There’s just no way I can actually justify wearing these though for a preseason football game.  Every other staff personnel had normal sneakers on but Mayo had to go above and beyond taking an extra 20 minutes in his morning routine just to lace those suckers.
