Will Tonight Be the End For Coach K?

Is this going to be the end of the line for the storied college coach? Approaching tonight’s crucial matchup between the Red Raiders of Texas Tech and the Blue Devils of Duke one question is on everyone's mind: Is this it for Coach K? An expansive career filled with National Titles is what we all know the Duke Coach for, but how will he bow out, in grace or in agony? Tonight’s two-three matchup will provide us with that answer, and it is a difficult one to grasp. Either team could come through on top. Tech is filled with defense and experience, something that is generally favored in March compared to Duke’s young (extremely talented) roster. Yet Duke has the upper hand on the sidelines Coach K is experience, he is the face of college basketball, and he will want nothing less than a dominant victory over another team who wants to spoil his last dance. However, spoiling the Duke legend is what college players and coaches who don’t go to Duke love more than anything else. Since the days of Laettner and Hill kids and coaches alike love nothing more than beating the blue bloods, and Texas Tech is the perfect team to play the villains. Defense, strength, and experience is what tonight's crucial Sweet Sixteen matchup will come down to—and Tech has that in waves. This Duke team will struggle, and the contest will not be a pretty one to watch, despite Duke’s lottery picks(Banchero, Williams, Griffin). It’ll be ugly, low scoring, and in the end a gruesome way to go out; for either team. One thing is for sure however, and that is tonight’s game will be memorable, as the day Coach K lives or as the day he meets his end.
