Recently, at the WNBA All-Star game in Las Vegas Nevada, Sabrina Ionescu won the three point shooting contest. Incredibly, Ionescu shot twenty-seven three pointers, making twenty-five of them by the time the shot clock ran out. In total, Ionescu made 37 points and set a new record spanning across the WNBA and the NBA for most points made in the three point shooting contest.

Ionescu has always been an incredible athlete, but before heading to the WNBA, she was an even more fantastic collegiate player. She stayed dedicated to the University of Oregon throughout her college career, playing all four years there. At Oregon, she was highlighted for her work in the guard spot on the floor, playing an incredible amount of minutes from when she arrived.

Looking at her freshman season in 2016-2017, she started and played in 33 games in the year. Ionescu averaged 14.6 points, seven rebounds, and six assists per game, all while maintaining an 82.5 percent free-throw average and a 42.0 percent three-point average. Those are some insane statistics for a collegiate player, let alone a freshman.

Additionally, she led the Ducks in her Junior year to their first Final Four appearance during the 2018-2019 season.

Flash forward to her Senior season, Ionescu again started and played in 33 of 33 games for the Ducks. She averaged 17.5 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds per game while keeping a 92.1 percent free throw average.

After graduation, Ionescu was the first round, first overall pick in the 2020 WNBA draft. She was selected by the New York Liberty and continues to play for them to this day.

She continues to push herself athletically, creating a name for herself. In the WNBA All-Star game alone, she had six rebounds, eight assists, and 18 points proving herself solid against lots of strong competition and a stacked opposing team.

As she continues her career, Ionescu will do nothing but shine for the incredible player and female leader she is.
